Laneway Festival, they high point of the year for hipsters and indie lovers nation-wide, has announced the dates for the festival in 2012. Modelled on the highly successful Pitchfork Festival in the states, Laneway has an amazing pedigree of artists for such a young festival, launched in Melbourne’s Caledonian lane back in 2004.
Acts such as Architecture In Helsinki, Broken Social Scene, Les Savy Fav, The Gossip, The Raveonettes, Foals, Warpaint, Beach House, Two Door Cinema Club, and more have all graced their stages in such a short time. In fact each year the lineup is so good it’s amazing the average hipsters head hasn’t exploded yet over the possibilities for next year.
Rumours surrounding the 2012 lineup include Twin Shadow, Laura Marling, Wild Beasts, The Horrors and Sonic Youth front man Thurston Moore, but you’ll have to wait until 10th October for the official announcement.
