As everyone even vaguely familiar with Oasis and their cantankerous former-frontman Liam Gallagher knows, the man has a bit of a thing for The Beatles. Oasis were, of course, constantly labelled a ripoff of the legendary quartet, and it’s never been something that any of the members have ever shied away from – least of all Liam.

Having described himself as the reincarnation of John Lennon (despite having been born almost a decade before the Beatle’s untimely death), Gallagher has styled himself as a young Lennon many times over the years, although more through his nasal vocal tones and occasional round glasses than his songwriting.

Now, as NME reports, the singer is putting together a Beatles-themed range of clothes to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, and probably to help bolster his Pretty Green clothing line, too.

“It’s been an absolute joy to do a collection in honour of the 50th anniversary of The Beatles ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ for Pretty Green,” Gallagher says, adding, “The Beatles have been a massive inspiration to me, both for music and fashion.”

Apparently the range will include a whopping 28 bits of kit, from vintage tees and kaftans (I had to Google that one), to a limited run of parkas – all officially licensed, of course.

Liam will also be flogging his debut solo album As You Were very soon, and it’ll be interesting to see whether it or the clothing line has more of a Beatles influence. Could be a close one.
