While Liam Gallagher is well-known across the world for being a bit of a prat at times, he started his newly-minted solo career off on the right foot last night as he played his first ever solo set to raise money for the recent Manchester tragedy.

As the BBC reports, Gallagher, one of the rock world’s most well-known Mancunians, played a set of Oasis classics and songs from his upcoming solo debut As You Were, on a Manchester Ritz stage that bore 22 candles in memory of the victims of the bombing, which took place at an Ariana Grande concert last week.

He was even joined by founding Oasis guitarist Bonehead for ‘Be Here Now’, the first time they’ve shared the stage in many years, before closing out the set with a “Manchester, I love you” and an a capella version of ‘Live Forever’.

His solo record is due this year, but for now, you can watch the a capella chant below.
