Linkin Park fans around the world are set to come together over the next couple of days to pay tribute to the group’s late frontman, Chester Bennington.

Friday, July 20th is set to mark the first anniversary of Bennington’s passing, with fans all over the globe planning to celebrate the life of the renowned frontman with a series of tributes all over the world. While the vast majority of these tributes are set to be held in the band’s native North America, Australian fans are also set to get in on the action as well.

The first of these events are set to be held in Melbourne’s Federation Square on Friday evening, with Victorian fans set to come together to pay tribute to Bennington. Likewise, the following night will see another event take place in Brisbane, with the Roma Street Parkland set to be filled with Linkin Park fans from midday.

“We will be coming together for a picnic to remember Chester Bennington in Brisbane, as we commemorate one year since his passing,” wrote event organisers.

“We will have food, music, a listening ear, and an opportunity to share memories together, as we all deal with this loss as a family,” the continued.

“After the event, we will have some CardsForChester available for anyone who wants to join us in hitting the streets, spreading mental health awareness in Chester’s name.”

News of these memorials comes only a day after founding Linkin Park member Mike Shinoda revealed he would be “open” to performing more shows under the old band name.

“I’m just taking it one step at a time and keeping my mind open to the possibilities,” explained Shinoda. “Whether it’s doing things under my name or working with other artists or producing tracks for somebody else or if the guys are at a point where they wanna play Linkin Park shows, I’m sure that any of those things are possibilities and I’m just open to whatever happens.”

While it’s unclear what the future will hold for the members of Linkin Park, it’s certain that tomorrow is set to be a rather important day for the family, friends, and fans of Chester Bennington.
