A previously unheard Chris Cornell has surfaced that’s set to feature on the upcoming Johnny Cash: Forever Words album, which sees unseen poems, lyrics, and letters written by the legend set to music by music’s biggest names.

Prior to his passing, Cornell recorded ‘You Never Knew My Mind’ in the Cash Cabin Studio in Tennesse. Cornell had spoken openly about the impact Cash had on him in the past saying, “I met the man once or twice in my life, and he was so gracious and he was such an influence on me as a musician.”

He also recalled the time Cash covered Soundgarden’s ‘Rusty Cage’ saying, “I’ve felt like he’s maybe one of the bigger presences in my life, in terms of artists that I’m a fan of.”
