Following on from the success of the inaugural Hotter Than Hell festival earlier this year, Australia’s biggest celebration of Aussie rock is back again, announcing its lineup and dates for the 2018/19 summer festival season – and it’s a doozy.

Yes, once again, some of Australia’s biggest rock bands (and one honorary Aussie group) from the ’90s are coming together to provide the closest thing to Homebake we’ve seen since 2012.

With a rotating lineup that includes the likes of Spiderbait, Shihad, Jebediah, Killing Heidi, Bodyjar, 28 Days, and Area-7 all performing at selected dates, you could be forgiven for thinking you’re seeing a reunion of the 1999 Hottest 100 countdown, but the biggest news is yet to come.

Performing on their first tour since breaking up following the death of bassist Dean Turner in 2009, Magic Dirt are also set to reform to perform on the Hotter Than Hell tour, hitting up all dates except the Gold Coast and Toowoomba. Needless to say, this is set to be one of the biggest gatherings of Aussie rock we’ve seen in a very long time.

Punters right across Australia voted with their ears this year, with an overwhelming demand for the first Hotter Than Hell,” noted festival organisers.

Bringing together iconic Aussie rock and taking it to places that often get overlooked by the touring circuit has proven that Australians want their rock and Hotter Than Hell is committed to be the institution that will keep the fire burning year after year.

Hotter Than Hell is set to kick off in Townsville in December of 2018, before venturing around Queensland throughout January and February, venturing down to Victoria for the festival’s sole out of state appearance. So sadly, if you’re located anywhere except Queensland and Victoria, it might be time to start planning a road trip to ensure you don’t miss out on one of the biggest Aussie rock tours you’ll see for a very long time.

Tickets to the Hotter Than Hell festival are set to go on sale at 10am on Wednesday, July 10th, so make sure you get in early to avoid missing out!
