Well, we chatted to Mariachi El Bronx last week and despite drummer Jorma Vik’s suggestion that Perth and Adelaide would still be getting a bit of Mariachi love, their Big Day Out sideshows have been announced in Melbourne and Sydney only. Known as ‘that punk band that started releasing Mariachi records’, LA born and bred Mariachi El Bronx are no strangers to our lands.

A mere 2 years ago we witnessed their Australian touring debut as the opening act for none other than, you guessed it, themselves (The Bronx, that is). 13 months later, Mariachi El Bronx induced a sudden influx of interstate travel when they played a one-off sold out show at The Forum as part of Melbourne Festival 2010.

Joining them on stage for the sideshows will be special guests, Melbourne’s The Vasco Era. May the margaritas flow!
