This could be one of the ultimate pairings of the year. Massive Attack, the masters of dub and trip hop are teaming up with the ultimate movie seductress Scarlett Johansson.

The unlikely partnership sees them teaming up on a song that will be included in the score of the film Days of Grace. The crime thriller, which is set in Mexico, follows the action and corruption during the FIFA World Cup between 2002 and 2010.

The film score contribution is in line with Massive Attack’s new work ethic, which has seen them tire of the record/promote album/tour cycle, and rather sees them looking to work in fits and spurts, applying their considerable production skills  contributing to film and TV soundtracks as well as producing EPs of new material.

Johansson, meanwhile, is hosing down rumours that she’s dating former Mr Madonna, craggy faced Sean Penn, who is a good 20 years her senior, as well as rumours that she’s preggers to him. She’s also filming for yet another remake of The Avengers, which is due for release in May next year. There’s no word as to whether she’ll be making a follow up record to her poorly received album of Tom Waits covers.
