triple j’s beloved Like A Version segment wrapped up last week with an absolutely stellar performance from Canadian jazz maestros BadBadNotGood, who lent their slinky musicianship to the Beach Boys classic ‘God Only Knows’. Everyone agreed it was one of the highlights of Like A Version this year and the perfect way to round it out for 2016.

But in case you hadn’t heard, Breakfast hosts Matt Okine and Alex Dyson are leaving the station and decided they’d lend their own, uh, particular musical stylings to a cover of their own. They decided to follow what has been a theme throughout the year and do a mash-up of two iconic tracks, Seal’s timeless ‘Kiss From A Rose’ and Darude’s immortal ‘Sandstorm’, only in a way that was intentionally terrible.

As you can see in the clip below, they got some help from the likes of KLP, Vera Blue, Just A Gent, and a few others, with Okine spitting bars over the iconic piano riff from ‘Kiss From A Rose’, before the whole thing explodes in an eruption of mid-’90s Eurodance and we defy you not to jump out of your seat and do your best Alex Dyson whiteboy dance.

Not too long ago we ran through a few of our favourite Like A Version covers of the year so far, including Sarah Blasko’s incredible David Bowie cover, Guy Sebastian linking up with Paces, and Hey Geronimo mashing up Courtney Barnett and Regurgitator.
