Matt Corby’s Australian Tour 2013 has been announced and following a winning set at Splendour In The Grass, the lad with the locks, the looks, and the luscious voice is heading out on his biggest national tour yet in anticipation of the release of his debut album.
The Resolution Tour will see Corby spending October travelling through the stages and venues of Australia with some of his biggest shows to date, including arena shows at Sydney’s Horden Pavilion and Melbourne’s Festival Hall, as well as his first ever headline shows in Canberra and Tasmania.
Following on from his May tour in support of his latest single ‘Resolution‘, the first taste of new recorded material from Corby, the October tour will see the singer-songwriter showcasing more material from his new album, crafted across four months holed up in apartments and studios around Los Angeles.
As well as working on his debut full-length album, Corby has spent the last 12 months touring the UK, Europe, and US in support of the international release of his 5x platinum Into The Flame EP, which was ranked as one of the highest selling releases in ARIA’s singles category for 2012 and spawned the massive hit ‘Brother’, the sixth most played song on commercial radio according to the Music Network’s Hot 100.
The ‘Resolution’ single is also certified platinum with sales in excess of 100,000 copies, further cementing Matt Corby’s success as he returns from playing Splendour In The Grass. Corby will bunker down on finishing his debut album before heading out on The Resolution Tour this October.
Joining him on tour will be London trio Bear’s Den. The music they make is wholesome, warm and engaging, and takes its influence from the likes of Wilco and Ryan Adams and a wealth of both folk and alt-country reference points.
The ethos of DIY is at the heart of everything Bear’s Den has done since their inception. Charging around the UK in a van playing to any venue that would have them, picking up support tours including Of Monsters & Men and Matt’s own UK tour last November, concluding 2012 supporting Mumford & Sons at London’s 02 Arena.
