We’d like to know a little bit about you for our files, but we don’t like regurgitating press releases or asking the easy questions. At Tone Deaf we only ask the tough questions, so just hold still, grit your teeth, clench your buttocks and be still while we put on the rubber gloves, apply the thumbscrews, and pull out our thermometer while you open up and say ahhhhhhhhhhh… Truthful answers only or we drink your rider while you’re on stage.

Who gets the most ‘off stage action’ in the band? What’s the secret to their success?

By action I assume you mean women’s attention, Willow definitely cops the majority of that. However contrary to popular belief he tends to think of himself a bit of a gentleman so he commonly finds himself letting the offering parties down as gently as he can!

Have you ever been arrested? Where were you, and what was it for?

Yes! Not very long ago, It was at Eso’s 30th Birthday party which was held at the Ivy on George St (Sydney). I was a smart ass to a couple of police officers however was careful not to break any laws. EG they told me i’d had enough to drink I said “I couldn’t agree more”. One of the cops had a massive chip on his shoulder and arrested me. They deleted footage from my phone which I had taken of them arresting me for nothing. They obtained and deleted CCTV footage of the incident as well. I was charged with failure to leave premises, resisting arrest, and then they later charged me with 2 accounts on assault on a police officer. I was guilty of none of this, he was just a cop fabricating this story of events to justify him wrongfully arresting me. I could go into heaps more detail however I fought the case and all charges were dropped due to too many discrepancies in the arresting officer’s story as well as everything I had stated on record being found out to be true! What a win!

What’s been the worst day job you’ve ever had?

I collected and scraped hundreds of plates per night at North Ryde RSL for 3 weeks once. They made me wear the stupidest uniform which felt like a sweat suit. They got mad at you if you decided to stop walking, talk, laugh, breathe, etc.

Sex, drugs and groupies – In what order do you prefer them and how often?

I just got out of a long term relationship so I’ll answer this on behalf of Willow. Sex on Drugs would be more his cup of tea. Groupies after that.

Take us back to the first gig you went to. Where was it and what was the venue?

Willow and I watched Jurrasic 5 and The Roots perform at The Horden Pavilion back in 2003 or 2004, ‘twas amazing!

What’s your favourite site to download music from and do you ever pay for it? Can we find any of your releases there?

I’m not a big downloader actually, Triple J Unearthed is about the only site I download from. I buy a couple of CDs a week as does Willow. We have pretty extensive collections. I recently got mine insured for $10,000.

What’s the furthest you’d go to win over a new fan?

I’d piggy back him or her down the main road in my undies but no further. That should do the trick.
