More Big Day Out 2014 sideshows have been announced.

Following releasing the official timetables and maps for each leg of the five-date national tour, another batch of big name bands playing on the Big Day Out 2014 lineup have been confirmed for a series of headline sideshows – just 11 days out from the Australian tour’s kick-off.

Presented by Big Day Out and Soundwave Touring (the two festivals that form the folio of promoter AJ Maddah) the new Big Day Out 2014 sideshows feature alt-metal icons Deftones, dynamite Swedes The Hives, and Dave Grohl-friendly metal band Ghost.

While the sideshows focus on the bands that were added to the Big Day Out bill following Blur’s high-profile sudden cancellation, there’s one act that’s conspicuously absent from the latest announcement: Beady Eye.

The Liam Gallagher and ex-Oasis members were expected to be announced as part of the new batch of shows owing to a rogue tweet from Maddah about a possible Sydney sideshow, but there’s no sign of them in the new announcement. (Slightly unnerving given the last time Big Day Out 2014 sideshows were announced without the appearance of a big name Britpop-sating band)

UPDATE 13/01: Beady Eye Big Day Out sideshows have been announced, along with dates from Vista Chino. Full details below.

Full ticket details, dates, venues, and artist info below. Tickets for all shows go on sale next week, 9am AEDT on Tuesday 14th January.

There’s also some tickets still available for a variety of the Big Day Out 2014 sideshows, including gigs from Arcade Fire, Snoop Dogg’s various shows with Major Lazer, Mac Miller, and Flosstradamus, The Lumineers, Primus, Toro Y Moi & Portugal. The Man, Grouplove & CSS, and The 1975.
