Ms. Lauryn Hill has announced an exclusive Bluesfest performance

Those lucky enough to be heading to Bluesfest this year are already in for a huge treat. With some of music’s biggest, and most enduring names on the bill, such as Robert Plant, The New Power Generation, and Canned Heat, you could be forgiven for thinking there’s no way this fest could get any bigger. Well, we’ve all been proven wrong, with Bluesfest throwing us a curveball and announcing the legendary Ms. Lauryn Hill for an exclusive, one-off performance at this year’s festival.

Having first come to prominence in the ’90s with her work with highly-influential group The Fugees, Ms. Lauryn Hill embarked upon a solo career later in the decade. Her debut album, The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill, was met with universal critical acclaim and has since been considered not only one of the greatest albums of the hip-hop and R&B genres, but one of the greatest of all time.

Since then, it’s been hard to keep track of this legend of the genre, with only occasional singles being released, and sporadic tours being undertaken. Needless to say, the chance to catch Ms. Lauryn Hill live is not one that you would want to pass up.

Now, Bluesfest have announced that Ms. Lauryn Hill is set to descend upon the festival for an exclusive performance at the festival on Easter Friday. The only performance of her trip to Australia, this is set to be an increasingly rare experience to see one of the world’s most accomplished and enigmatic songwriters and performers on the live stage.

Tickets to Bluesfest are still on sale, but with the amount of amazing artists on this year’s bill, it would be wise not to wait too long to pick up yours.
