Muse have always opted for progression and pushing modern boundaries in their music, so the news that they’re looking to include tidbits of the weird and wonderful meme-world into their next era isn’t too shocking.

The song ‘Thought Contagion’ recently premiered on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show, and during an interview with the band it was revealed the track was “inspired by Richard Dawkins and the concept of memes”.

For Muse fanatics, you’ll pick up that the video is a continuation of the narrative followed in the video for the band’s 2017 single ‘Dig Down’.

The band also detailed to Mac that the follow up to their 2015 effort, Drones is “in the works” but not quite finished yet. They also said that they’d like to incorporate ‘magnets’ and ‘levitation’ into their future live shows.
