Muse’s last album was called Drones and it was all about, you guessed it, drones. Matt Bellamy kind of has a thing for them right now. According to the frontman, the album was about “how the world is run by drones utilizing drones to turn us all into drones”.

In keeping with the drone-heavy theme of the album, the band decided to deploy their own fleet of drones over the heads of fans on their current tour. However, as Pitchfork reports, the crowd got to experience the danger of drones for themselves when one of them failed.

The band was performing their song ‘The Globalist’ at London’s famous O2 Arena when one of the drones completed a crash-landing into the crowd, albeit very slowly. According to one NME staffer, the band’s crew ran into the crowd to get the drone out of there before it wound up on eBay.

Luckily, no fans were reported to have sustained injuries from the crash, though the incident did make for some very Spinal Tap-esque footage, which you can check out below. A similar incident had occurred back in January during a show in Detroit.
