There’s a new Princess of the Stone Age! Queens of the Stone Age front man Josh Homme and his Melbourne born wife, Brody Dalle of Sourpuss, The Distillers and Spinnerette have announced that they’ve had a baby boy.

Barely out of the labour ward, Dalle hit up her twitter page (doesn’t she know you’re not supposed to use mobile phones in hospitals with all that expensive life saving equipment around?) to inform fans that funnily enough, there was a new ranga in town. “We got us a very handsome red-headed baby boy – Orrin Ryder Homme born on Friday the 12th of August, 7 lbs,” she announced to the world.

Orrin will join the happy couple at home in Palm Springs in the California Desert where they live with their first born child, daughter Camilla Harley Joan, who was born in 2006, with the couple tying the knot a year later in 2007.

Queens of the Stone Age only have two gigs lined up in a fortnight’s time, which should give Homme plenty of time to brush up on his nappy changing skills before perhaps bringing Orrin down to meet his Australian grandparents over summer if rumours of a Queens of the Stone Age slot on the Big Day out are to be believed.
