High Tension Australian Tour 2013 Announced

Melbourne’s High Tension will tour the East Coast of Australia in support of new album Death Beat this November. The four piece – consisting of members of The Nation Blue and Young & Restless – will smash out a set in some of the country’s best rock venues. High Tension offer up a preview of their live show in new video for the ominous ‘Mountain Of Dead’. Recorded in the depths of the Aussie bush (terrain courtesy of The Cosmic Psychos’ Ross Knight) where stumbling upon decayed animal skeletons is fairly commonplace, ‘Mountain Of Dead’ is a tense tune. It feels as if the bushfire that erupts behind the band mid-vid could pretty plausibly have sprung from the strings of Ash Pegram’s guitar or Karina Utomo’s manic glare – watch the video here.

The Little Stevies Announce New Album & Australian Tour 2013

Sisters Sibylla and Beth Stephen – best known as The Little Stevies – have announced an Australian Tour 2013 this October and November following the release of their forthcoming album Diamonds For Your Tea. While showcasing their new 5-piece live line-up earlier this year at the Port Fairy Folk Festival, The Little Stevies reminded audiences of why the Melbourne outfit have such a strong reputation as a must-see live act. Their charming songs, unpredictable on-stage banter, unique style and overall uplifting aura continue to win hearts throughout the Australian music community. Juggling new motherhood, full-time study and part-time work between them, the Stephen sisters decided that giving themselves more time for being creative with their writing and experimental with sounds was the best way to approach their new material. Diamonds For Your Tea is out Thursday 3rd October on The Little Stevies own label ‘Love Your Records’. Daughters Australian Tour 2014 Announced

Hailing from Providence, Rhode Island, Daughters, are as mysterious as their music. After building a heavy following for themselves in the early 2000s they disbanded prior to the release of their third, self-titled, studio album. The band’s experimental experience paved the way for many that would come after them. Their loud, yet progressive while alternative take on the genre was one that many would lend their ears to. A band considered gone before their prime will put their feet on Australian soil in a very rare, and very anticipated tour of the country in January 2014. Being avant-garde and rebellious, Daughters are going to blow amps and minds on this short run of dates with songs from all of their releases set to be unleashed on unforgiving ears. Limited pre-sale tickets on sale now.

Frenzal Rhomb Add Rural Shows To Australian Tour 2013

Frenzal Rhomb have added shows in Newcastle and Wollongong in November! The band were planning to announce only one more show this year – as usual they put a map up on the wall and threw turds at it and whichever city had the most on it was the winner. When IRA members did this in jail this was called “the dirty protest”, in the band room it’s just a gross breach of OH&S. Frenzal Rhomb are also about to begin work on a new album – the follow-up to last year’s Smoko At The Pet Food Factory  – which will feature several new theses on drugs and their relationship to the new political climate (or maybe not).
