The Vasco Era have been hard at work back in the studio and they’re unleashing a new single from their forthcoming 3rd album. The song, ‘Child Bearing Hips’ is a fresh new cut of distorted, rock n roll which lives up to the promise of their blistering live shows. Hard at work in the studio recording and perfecting album number three, their first totally independent long player, they’ve been cooped up at Sound Park studios in Melbourne with the help of Steven Schram (The Devastations, Little Red). Ahead of the October release of the album, they’re ready to take respite from studio fever and hit the road, with a run of shows to celebrate ‘Child Bearing Hips’ this August/September!

Front man Sid O’Neil says of  ‘Child Bearing Hips’: “Child Bearing Hips is about wanting to be involved with things that you know are wrong. Even if you don’t like what they stand for.  It usually stems from being at a party in the wrong clothes and people making assumptions about your worth based on this. It frustrates me that I need these people to accept me even though I am directly opposed to this idea.

I guess there is a bit of nostalgia involved, and some of that golden age syndrome wherein we long for the past even though it probably wasn’t much better. The child bearing hips part relates to the fact that I have child bearing hips.”
