While hitting the promo circuit for his new album entitled Record Collection, which is due out in September, Mark Ronson has revealed that he’s also taken up production duties on Duran Duran’s new album which he reckons will be out late this year or early next year. Clearly noting that the last time Duran Duran put out a decent tune was in 1993 with ‘Ordinary World’, he’s said that a band that’s been around for 30 years is allowed to make a few duff albums.

“If you’re around for 30 years you’re bound to make some stuff that you’re proud of and some that you’re less proud of. When I was in the studio with them on this album the main goal and ethos was to return them to something that they were. We incorporated some of the things that made them really brilliant in the first place and just watching them get their mojo back has been something special.”
