Avid Twitter fan, Johnny Marr of The Smiths, says on his Twitter account that he’s been offered a serious book deal. His falling out with Morrissey, which led to the dissolution of The Smiths in 1987 was one of the most bitter ones even by rock n’ roll standards. The pair have been sniping at each other ever since, making the prospect of an airing of The Smiths dirty laundry a treat for fans.

He says ‘I have been offered a book deal, a serious one. I’d get into it and that would mean less time on songs . It will happen though. It will be an autobiography of course, that or about my collection of fascinating public bus tickets from the ’80’s. That would be cool.”

Author Johnny Rogan wrote what many consider to be the definitive biography of The Smiths in 1992, with the best selling Morrissey & Marr: The Severed Alliance. Morrissey was infamously quoted saying of the book, “Personally I hope Johnny Rogan ends his days very soon in an M3 pile-up.”
