There’s been a whole lotta buzz since unlikely bedfellows Lou Reed & Metallica announced they were collaborating on a new album.

A few weeks ago we got our first glimpse of some rather bizarre cover art for the project, and now thanks to a leak we can hear for the first time the fruits of their labour, albeit only 30 seconds of it.

The track, entitled The View, sounds like Lou Reed talking over a Metallica song. We’re not convinced it works, in fact maybe this is why Metallica said they were crying in the studio a month back. But we’ve embedded it below for you to listen to and make your own mind.

The unusual but certainly much anticipated venture is set for release in Australia on October 31st.
