A few weeks ago we reported that The Flaming Lips were planning a six-hour song that fans could have their name in for $100. The money raised would be going to charity, specifically the Central Oklahoma Humane Society and the Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma.

Quicker than we think anyone could imagine, Wayne Coyne and his band of eccentric merry men have laid down the track and have made it available for streaming on Soundcloud. The track, called I Found A Star On The Ground, will also be available in the novelty form of a toy. Called a Strobo Trip, it’s anyone’s guess how it might work but by the photo below it sure looks cool.

The Strobo Trip will available in strictly limited numbers exclusively by Jackpot Records in downtown Portland, Oregon. Those of us stuck on this side of the world in the meantime can stream it below.
