Here it is! The dates we’ve all been waiting for ever since it was announced that Chris Cornell fronted grunge band Soundgarden would be travelling down under for the annual Big Day Out festival tour.

When Big Day Out was born 20 years ago, a new wave of music was emerging from the American north-west and at the crest of that was Soundgarden. It’s been fifteen years since they last graced our shores and the first time since 1997 that the band will perform outside of the USA.

And if that isn’t exciting enough they’ll be supported by The Bronx, who’ll be dropping the ‘Mariachi’ from their title for these two special shows only. Unsurprisingly fans outside of Melbourne and Sydney will miss out on sideshows which are sure to sell out in record time when they go on sale at 9am on Tuesday 6th December.

Frontman Chris Cornell was only recently in Australia touring his acoustic live show, and if demand for that show is anything to go by you’re going to want to be ready to purchase tickets as they go on sale.
