The First Soundwave 2014 Sidewaves have been announced, with rock four-piece Clutch announcing headline sideshows to accompany their appearance at the annual hard and heavy festival.

The Maryland quartet arrive off the back of their latest, critically-acclaimed album Earth Rocker, Clutch’s first album of new material in four years and regarded as one of the best of the band’s 23-year-long career.

As well as playing nationally as part of the Soundwave 2014 lineup, alongside the likes of Green Day, Avenged Sevenfold, Mastodon, A Day To Remember, and many more, Clutch will play Sydney’s The Metro, Brisabne’s The Zoo, and Melbourne’s Prince Bandroom as they travel around the country in February.

It has been a long four years for Aussie Clutch fans, since the band’s last tour in 2010 playing for that year’s Soundwave festival, using the intervening years to take to stages across the world, including 12 separate countries since the release of Earth Rocker.

To celebrate the release of their tenth studio LP, Clutch are releasing Earth Rocker Live, a limited edition, double vinyl picture disk set, that features one LP of the studio recording, and one LP of live tracks recorded from various shows around the world to mirror the tracklisting of the original studio LP.

More Sidewaves shows are expected from acts on the massive Soundwave 2014 lineup in the coming weeks as the annual festival’s February kick-off draws closer.
