Achtung! This is a heads up for bands playing at and music fans attending Splendour In The Grass up at Woodford this weekend – make sure you don’t have any party powders, pills or green stuff on you in your luggage. A Tone Deaf spy just rang in to let us know that Australia Federal Police sniffer dogs have been greeting bands and fans arriving at Brisbane Airport on domestic flights.

Naturally passengers on international flights are used to Australian Customs sniffer Beagles greeting them on arrival but it’s most unusual for the luggage carousels carrying domestic baggage to have a visit from Australian Federal Police sniffer dogs. A member of one of Australia’s best known bands, who didn’t want to be named, told Tone Deaf that they weren’t surprised by the sniffer dogs presence and they didn’t have anything of interest to the AFP on them, but were pretty keen to get the word out to other bands and tour managers.

The presence of the sniffer dogs *could* just be a coincidence of course, but with hundreds of band members and thousands of music fans arriving in town, it’s unlikely.
