Newton Faulkner is undoubtedly one of the most popular guitar virtuosos in the world of music, with his unique, percussive style of playing earning him fans the world over. Now, the living legend has shared with us some tips and tricks about what makes him so popular.

Having burst onto the scene back in 2006, Newton Faulkner released his first album, Hand Built By Robots, the following year, with lead single ‘Dream Catch Me’ hitting #5 on the ARIA charts.

Now, having released his sixth album back in September, Newton Faulkner is heading back to Aussie shores next month for Bluesfest, in addition to a number of sideshows around the country.

But have you ever wondered just what goes into Newton Faulkner’s exceptional guitar playing? Have you ever wished that you could turn your guitar into a kaleidoscope of sound in the same way that Newton does? Well, we were lucky enough to have him sit down with us and impart his musical knowledge so that we may attempt to play guitar just like him.

Newton Faulkner touches down in Australia in just a few weeks for his Aussie tour, which kicks off with an appearance at Bluesfest. While we wait for that to come, grab your guitar and let Newton Faulkner show you how he does it.
