The NYE On The Hill lineup has already been announced, with an impressive list of local talent – including Loon Lake, Wagons, and Money For Rope among a list of nearly 25 bands – helping launch the new Aussie music festival, a New Year’s expansion from the organisers of the boutique invite-only The Hills Are Alive.

Now the NYE On The Hill have announced its ‘special features’, enhancing the inaugural festival’s experience with food, comedy, theatre, a petting zoo, and extra-curricular activities as news arrives that tickets to the brand new addition to the Aussie music festival are nearly sold out.

The event’s mysterious benevolent benefactor, known only as ‘The Farmer’ (no relation to Aunty Meredith), has “spent his spare time wisely sitting on the hill watching those amazing sunsets and thinking of a whole bunch of other, ‘special features’ he can offer the visitors to his farm.”

The Food Fair will provide a selection of culinary delights from Dos Diablos Mobile Cantina providing Mexican options, to Bagel Burgers from Round the Way, plus Wild Horse Café’s amazing selection of tea and coffee.

The Sunset Spot will provide the perfect location to indulge in the view and breathe in the fresh country air, looking out over the festival site’s picturesque view of ‘The Hills’ and the adjoining Hill Camp, where a village of tent promises: “no cars, no stupid stereos playing music no-one else wants to hear, and no cows (provided fences hold up). Flattish ground guaranteed for those who arrive early.”

Comedy comes to NYE On The Hill with Al’s Music Rant: Fear Of A Blog Planet, arriving following a sold-out run at this year’s Melbourne Fringe Festival direct to NYE’s “perFARMance THAAtre.”

The hilarious duo of “human iPod” Al Newstead and Anna O’Bryan will deliver their critically acclaimed brand of comedy edutainment, guaranteeing intelligent wit and knowledgeable silliness in a colourful, topical tumblr(.com) of laughs that’ll have you rethink your stance on popular music (or at least, Dizzee Rascal).

NYE On The Hill is also a BYO event, but the THAA Bar will provide beverages from functional to fanciful to those who forget their esky, while The Farmers Field of Fun and Dr. Pong Shed will provide a selection of games to take a break from the music, including totem tennis, 10 pin bowling, mini-golf, table tennis, and more. Then there’s Barn Yard Buddies, bringing a kid’s animal farm to the music festival experience “And… before you ask… yes, adults are allowed in too,” confirms The Farmer.

Also on hand will be an amazing selection of Aussie talent playing NYE’s single stage, so you don’t miss any of the musical action from the likes of Hayden Calnin, Pigeon, Sietta, The Love Junkies, Remi, The Pierce Brothers, I, a Man, The Hello Morning, and many more.

The first-ever NYE On The Hill is from the team behind the successful invite-only The Hills Are Alive (THAA) festival, which has been running for five years, and now organisers are opening up their picturesque setting in regional Victoria to a wider audience while gifting music fans with a brand new addition to the New Year’s Eve festival roster.

NYE On The Hill is  located at the same site as THAA, on an “incredibly picturesque site… 10mins from Loch Village, 20mins from Wonthaggi, 95mins from Melbourne,” from 30th December to the 1st January.
