Melbourne Festival performers, Texan indie darlings Okkervil River, are set to perform a number of shows in Victoria and in other states as they head down under to play shows this October. The five-piece come armed with a swag of new songs from their recently released sixth album, I Am Very Far, which is quite removed from anything they’ve done before. Led by the commanding Will Sheff, who described by Pitchfork as as “one of the best lyric-writers in indie rock”, Okkervil River taking the crowd from rowdy sing alongs to silent intense listening.
In addition to their previously announced Melbourne Festival shows, Okkervil River will bring their rollicking blend of country, folk and rock to audiences in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.
