We’d like to know a little bit about you for our files, but we don’t like regurgitating press releases or asking the easy questions. At Tone Deaf we only ask the tough questions, so just hold still, grit your teeth, clench your buttocks and be still while we put on the rubber gloves, apply the thumbscrews, and pull out our thermometer while you open up and say ahhhhhhhhhhh… Truthful answers only or we drink your rider while you’re on stage.

Who gets the most ‘off stage action’ in the band? What’s the secret to their success?

Right now I would say the drummer, his secret was Bukowski.

Have you ever been arrested? Where were you, and what was it for?

I was Loitering in a furniture shop and asked to leave but didn’t, cops got called and it turns out I was drunk and disorderly . Another time I got pulled out of my shower naked by two police for not paying a taxi, apparently they can enter your house if they’ve sufficient reason to believe a crime has been commited. I wasn’t hearing that and told them to fuck off which they loved and the whole thing ended really well.

What’s been the worst day job you’ve ever had?

The Dole is easily the worst job, others would include, working full time in a shoe factory, full time in a factory that handed out packs for the people that set up sample stalls at supermarkets, that was a real joke actually, was working with a 40 something divorcee who lives In a sharehouse and saw me basically as an emotional punching bag. I got called ‘bitch’ for putting one can too much tuna in a sample bag one day and I thought maybe there is more too the working world

Sex, drugs and groupies – In what order do you prefer them and how often?

That question is just too silly.

Take us back to the first gig you went to. Where was it and what was the venue?

I’m fairly sure it was an underage punk show at the Prahran town hall, I didn’t really like the music and felt intimidated overall

What’s your favourite site to download music from and do you ever pay for it? Can we find any of your releases there?

I definitely still pay for music on vinyl, I don’t really have a favourite site to download music from I just find what I want at the time, I don’t know look it up.

What’s the furthest you’d go to win over a new fan?

Play a gig
