There’s a reason why Parkway Drive have maintained the reputation as Australia’s most lauded and celebrated metalcore band.  Having stormed international stages for the better part of the last 15 years, the band have developed into a constantly burning force to be reckoned with, releasing five albums that showcase their penchant for crafting meticulously catchy and heavy songs.

Now, the Byron Bay legends have released an epic new track ‘Wishing Wells’, which sees the band make their way further into stadium metal territory, combining haunting acoustic guitar and a bone-crushing breakdown that allows Winston McCall’s demon summoning vocals to soar.

It’s the band’s first release since their 2015 album IRE which divided fans with its departure from their founding metalcore sound into hard rock and alt-metal territory.

In explaining the track, frontman Winston McCall said that “’Wishing Wells’ is the compression of grief into song.”

“It’s attempting to place blame when there is none, seeking answers where there is only emptiness, and ultimately trying to find some kind of reason and meaning to justify the ultimate loss we will all be faced with in life. This is how this chapter begins and will end.”

The band recently took to the stage of Unify Gathering where they celebrated the 10-year anniversary of their iconic album Horizons.
