For 23 years, Porcupine Tree were one of the most influential progressive rock bands around, despite never seeing the widespread critical success that they deserved. Now, eight years after the group’s breakup, frontman Steven Wilson has announced he’s returning to Australia this year on a solo tour.
Since Porcupine Tree broke up in 2010, Steven Wilson has been keeping himself busy with his solo career, releasing a number of critically-acclaimed albums, the most recent of which, To The Bone, was released back in 2017.
Now, two years on from his last visit to Australia, the English rocker has announced a three-date tour of Australia this November which will see him hit up Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. With his band consisting of Nick Beggs on bass, Craig Blundell on drums, Adam Holzman on keyboards, and Alex Hutchings taking up guitar duties, this is going to be one stellar performance.
Of course, those who attended Wilson’s 2016 tour might recall his attitude towards phones and cameras at the show, so if you’d planned to get some selfies with Steven, promoters have warned that “photography and video whether by phone, camera or any other device is strictly prohibited for this concert.”
