Good punk music can be hard to find at times, but it turns out all you really have to do is cast your eyes towards the Gold Coast, and Being Jane Lane will appear to provide you with some of the hardest tunes that our country has to offer.

Since charging onto the scene two years ago, Being Jane Lane have been honing their craft by blowing the minds of Aussie punk fans with support slots for some big name acts such as The Bennies, Clowns, Frenzal Rhomb, and even American outfits like Hawthorne Heights and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.

Recently, they’ve been getting all their ducks in a row as they prepare to release their debut record. So what’s the first step? Releasing a blistering single, that’s what.

‘Sailboat’ is the first taste of the quintet’s debut LP, an unforgiving mix of garage and punk rock serving as an ode to, as the band puts it, “shitty dads”, and the three-and-a-half minute Guy Cooper produced-anthem is definitely a dose of catharsis.

Being Jane Lane are also set to officially launch their single at Brisbane’s The Bearded Lady on October 28th, so be sure to head along and catch a band who have managed to impress some of Australia’s biggest names in punk so far – and us – and check out the new track below.
