Having been one of the most notable musicians in the Northern Territory’s music scene for quite some time now, Caiti Baker dropped her debut solo album Zinc back in October. Now, as she continues to bring her unique sound and style to audiences around the country, Baker has today released the video for her newest single, ‘Rough Old Town’.

Having risen to fame as half of the electro-soul hip-hop duo Sietta, Caiti Baker has spent the last few years working with some of Aussie music’s biggest names, as well as winning plenty of awards for her exceptional work. Having served as the touring vocalist for Indigenous hip-hop act A.B. Original, Baker also managed to find time to tour and collaborate with names as diverse as Booker T, Dan Sultan, Son Little, and Pete Murray.

Now, as seen in the video for newest single ‘Rough Old Town’, Baker is clearly shown in her element. While the eclectic, soulful, and groove-laden instrumentation of the track plays, we’re treated with a rustic tribute to rural communities. With images of tin sheds, rail lines, and the dusty nature of a locale far from the big city, we’re given an intimate look into the life of Caiti Baker and the titular rough old town that she sings of.

Having recently been announced as one of the brilliant acts on this year’s St Kilda Festival lineup, Caiti Baker is also set to perform a few shows in New South Wales and Victoria over the next month. Be sure to head along to catch one of Australia’s most electrifying acts showcasing her talent on the live stage.
