Today we have the pleasure of premiering the brand new video for ‘Don’t Tell Your Mama’ (ft. Anabelle Kay) the latest single from local indie-folk-pop heroes The Peeks.

Having only been released a fortnight ago, ‘Don’t Tell Your Mama’ has received a warm reception including air time on unearthed radio and great reviews from Zan Rowe, Dom Alessio, Dave Ruby Howe and Nat Tencic to name a few.

Paying homage to the aches and regressions of a musician’s penniless beginnings, the single brilliantly displays thew band’s ability to craft indie folk mixed with rock ’n’ roll’s bluegrass and country origins.

‘Don’t Tell Your Mama’ is the first taste of the band’s up-coming debut album, Grow Up/Grow Down, which will be out in July. The album was produced and mixed by AJ Bradford at Tender Trap Studios (AUS) and mastered by Ben Feggans (Dustin Tebbutt) at Studios 301 (AUS) featuring vocals by Anabelle Kay (recorded by Michael McGlynn at Vienna People Studios, Syd), steel pedal guitar by Shane Reilly, trumpet by Felix Watson and trombone by Boris Mathys.

‘Don’t Tell Your Mama’ will be launched on Friday May 20th at The Penny Black, Brunswick, Melbourne. For more info visit the band’s Facebook page.
