The Girl Fridas are a “post-riot grrl” three-piece from Melbourne making music with the aim of drawing attention to issues of gender diversity – “fighting the patriarchy’ in their own words.

Described as an “anti-cat call anthem”, their new single ‘Daggers’ pushes back against the sort of harassment still all too common on a night out – “Just ’cause I’m in leopard print/Don’t mean I’m ‘up for it'”.

They’re about to kick off a massive five-week Tuesday night residency at The Workers Club tomorrow night, dates below. The coolest part about the residency is that it’ll predominantly serve as a showcase for bands with female, non-binary or gender-diverse members.
