Sure, we already knew that Queens of the Stone Age’s new album was finished, and that they were preparing to hit us with a new album soon, but now we’re in full-on excitement mode and ready for the first single to drop within the fortnight.

As NME reports, Chris Payne of 104.1 KRZQ claims to have heard the record’s lead single, and has revealed to QOTSA fans over Twitter, “You’re in for a surprise.”

Chatting away with eager followers, he also revealed that the track  boasts a “super sexy groove” and, when asked if that would echo something like the slinky ‘Make It Wit Chu’, he replied that it was “More of a mid-up tempo sexy jam.”

Finally, he revealed that the single will be making its way to our radios “in two weeks”, giving us all time to learn the world ahead of their Aussie tour in July for Splendour in the Grass – which has sold out in both Sydney and Melbourne, but still has a small number of tickets remaining if you’re up for a trip to Darwin.

Just as exciting is that Payne apparently knows who’ll be supporting QOTSA on the tour, and reckons it’s “going to be awesome”. Start placing your bets.
