They’re one of the most influential Aussie punk-rock groups of all time, and now Radio Birdman are set to bring their ferocious live show around the country this year, announcing a handful of local dates for September and October.
As one of the defining Aussie groups of the ’70s, Radio Birdman have spent decades writing, recording, and touring the world with their stunning collection of tunes, earning a reputation as one of the iconic Australian rock bands of all time in the process.
While new tunes haven’t been too forthcoming in recent years, compilations and live albums have been unleashed, while last year saw the premiere of the documentary Descent Into The Maelstrom, which noted that it had “been called the greatest Australian music documentary ever made” even before its release.
Now, following a huge Aussie tour with Died Pretty last year, Radio Birdman are set to tour the country again in late September, hitting up Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and wrapping things up with a huge hometown show in Sydney before they head off to Europe in October.
Support at all shows will come from Spanish rockers Los Chicos, while Adalita, Hits, and The Sunday Reeds will be performing at select dates on the tour.
These shows will also see the official DVD release of Descent Into The Maelstrom, which will be made available this September, as well as being sold via the group’s shows and online.
