Have Radiohead gone mad and commissioned a set of bangin’ house remixes of their recent King of Limbs album? Well, not quite. What they’re doing is they’re set to release a series of limited edition 12” vinyl remixes of songs from the aforementioned album which will be sold and distributed through their website and select indie record stores.

The first single of the remix series is due on 4 Jul yin the UK and will include versions of the songs ‘Little By Little’ and ‘Lotus Flower’, which have been given the remix treatment by Canadian electronic acts Caribou and Montreal resident Jacques Greene.

The band are keeping schtum on not only the number of remixes that will be released, but also just how many copies of them will be made available. The only clue we have to the identity of any of the other remixers is Flying Lotus, who accidentally recently mouthed off about his involvement, saying that the band “wanted me to remix [their] new record. I’ve been trying to mess with that a little bit,” he reckons. “It’s difficult to work with, because the pieces that they gave me, there’s no real a cappella. It’s like piano and voice at the same time.”

Fans will get an opportunity to hear the original record on the 1st July when they head in to long time producer Nigel Godrich’s studio, where they will perform renditions of every track on the album plus “some additional behind-the-scenes material”. The gig is set to be broadcast live on BBC Worldwide on the same date.
