Tragedy has struck the legendary Reading Festival in England, with a 17-year-old boy being found dead on festival grounds in “unexplained” circumstances.

As The Telegraph reports, emergency services were called to a tent on the festival grounds around 2am on Monday morning, with the teenager being pronounced dead soon after.

The deceased’s next of kin have been informed, though he has not been formally identified.

Superintendent Rory Freeman, Reading Festival’s Police Commander, stated that while the boy’s death is currently being treated as “unexplained”, there is “no cause for concern for surrounding festival-goers.”

News of this tragedy come after a weekend of memorable performances which included Kasabian covering Nirvana and Daft Punk, and Muse bringing AC/DC’s Brian Johnson onstage for a performance of ‘Back In Black’.
