We all know how annoying it can be when celebrities turn to the world of music. Sure, sometimes it can be pretty decent, while other times it can be downright laughable. Sadly, when it comes to the likes of Schapelle Corby, the latter is how we’re choosing to describe it.

As Fairfax reports, Schapelle Corby recently shared a video to her Instagram page of the track ‘Palm Trees’, which just so happen to feature her own vocals.

The track is actually a remix of a short Instagram video that Schapelle shared back in July. Featuring Corby looking straight into the camera and singing acapella, the lyrics consist solely of the words, “I’m in Queensland and it is sunny, I have the palm trees behind me.”

However, a young Adelaide student named Natalie Zeleny recently took that video and remixed it into the beast that is dubbed ‘Palm Trees’. Featuring a dance beat, extra vocals, and some pretty cheesy video effects, the song and its video are largely forgettable, and probably would’ve stayed that way had Schapelle Corby not gotten involved herself.

Sharing Zeleny’s video to her personal Instagram on Monday, Corby drew attention to the remix, where it has since received close to 60,000 views.

“So it’s taken me a little while to upload it but this is mine and Schapelle Corby’s song ‘Palm Trees’,” wrote Natalie Zeleny on Instagram. “I wrote this in Cairns for a bit of a laugh and then took it into the studio to produce it and lay down our vocals. So much fun.”

As expected though, the Internet has had a field day with this track, and has been quick to mercilessly mock the lousy dance number.

Don’t worry though, if we’ve learnt anything from comical songs, it’s only a matter of time before it goes away. Unless of course someone begins some sort of inevitable campaign to get this tune to the top of the Hottest 100.
