90s lo-fi legends Sebadoh are returning to Australia this September for the first time in over 15 years. The band began life back in the late 80s as a songwriting outlet for Lou Barlow of Dinosaur Jr and his mate Eric Gaffney nd after Barlow’s exit from Dinosaur Jr in 1989, the band became his main occupation.  Adding Jason Loewenstein to the line up, the band began touring and recording demos, leading to record deals with Sub Pop, Domino, City Slang and Homestead.

Moving between Barlow’s folk rock and Gaffney’s harsher noise experiments without notice, these schizophrenic qualities became the band’s signature sound and by 1993 Sebadoh had released a whopping six records and boasted a devoted cult following. Gaffney left the band later that year, resulting in Loewenstein becoming principal songwriter alongside Barlow. These two would then go on to release their two most accessible and successful albums, Harmacy and the recently reissued Bakesale. Tickets go on sale May 27th.
