Seeker Lover Keeper is the latest Australian supergroup and it features the formidable talents of Sally Seltmann, Holly Throsby and Sarah Blasko. The three got together to record an album in New York City last northern summer, aided by Jim White (The Dirty Three, Cat Power) on drums and Shahzad Ismaily (Tom Waits, Martha Wainwright, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy) on bass and guitar. Calling upon the talents of producer Victor Van Vugt (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, PJ Harvey) Holly, Sarah and Sally all shared vocal, piano and other guitar duties.
Their debut album is set for release on June 3rd, and they’ll then be taking to the road to showcase their new entity to fans on an extensive national tour. In the meantime, they’ve also released three videos which fans can see on their new website, www.seekerloverkeeper.com. The videos, directed by film maker extraordinnair Natalie van den Dungen, feature three actors – Barry Otto, John Waters and Aden Young – in a sparse theatre setting and make for compelling viewing.
