American metal act Sevendust have suddenly pulled out of their tour with Avenged Sevenfold due to the old chestnut of ‘unforseen circumstances’. Avenge Sevenfold are heading to Australia later this month to kick off their appropriately titled ‘Nightmare’ tour and it looks like that may be exactly what it’s like for promoters to deal with this hard rock act.

The band have had (or caused) a litany of problems in Australia, not to mention being deadly to be a member of. They were kicked off the Soundwave Tour in March after they insisted on playing in darkness – in effect demanding that they headline the festival and that headliners Iron Maiden play in the afternoon.

That went down like a cup of cold sick with promoter AJ Maddah who kicked them off the line up. The band seem to cause problems left right and centre – gigs were cancelled when drummer Jimmy ‘The Rev’ Sullivan passed away in mysterious circumstances in December 2009, while his replacement Mike Portnoy was sacked in dramatic circumstances exactly a year later.

No doubt there’s a real reason Sevendust pulled out of the tour –we’ll keep you updated as our trusty spies keep sending the rumours in.
