Awww bless, it seems that punk icon and probable murderer Sid Vicious had a soft side after all. A collection of paintings and sketches he made as a student at Hackney College of Further Education as a teenager in the mid 1970s is set to go under the auctioneer’s hammer and could fetch up to £4,000.

The book contains images of flowers and sunsets which are a far cry from the violent and aggressive image he portrayed in the Sex Pistols. The book was kept by his mother Ann Beverley until her death in 1996. Vicious died of an overdose in 1979 at Rikers Island Prison in New York, where the 21 year old was being held on charges of murdering his girlfriend Nancy Spungeon a tthe Chelsea Hotel.
