When two Hottest 100 alum hit the studio together, you know the end product will most definitely result in a banger.

Australian treasure, Alex The Astronaut has taken to Instagram to reveal that she had hopped in the studio with Aus-punk stalwarts, Skeggs providing backing vocals on what’ll be the band’s upcoming debut full length.

“You can call me Alex the skeg now (just joking I’m still an astronaut but I sang backing vocals on the new @skegss album)”

Between the two, we can expect a track that’s probably extremely hook-laden, with a healthy dosage of surf rock that screams total youthful jubilation. Yeah, we’re ready.

The two acts both sat cozily in the Top 40 of this year’s landmark Hottest 100 countdown with Skeggs coming in at #39 with their huge track ‘Got On My Skateboard’ from last year’s Holiday Food EP, while Alex’s intensely deep ‘Not Worth Hiding’ came in hot with a #23 position.

Skeggs have already taken to Twitter to reveal they’ve finished mixing the album so keep your eyes peeled for release details and info that’ll hopefully be revealed soon.
