In actual proof that Skegss are bigger than The Beatles, the Byron boys have beaten Paul McCartney and hit number 2 on the ARIA charts with their debut album My Own Mess. McCartney’s Egypt Station debuted at number 3, whilst Eminem’s surprise release Kamikaze has held on to the number 1 spot for a second week.

After shows across Europe, a huge set at Splendour, and putting together their incredible album, Skegss are now preparing for their biggest national tour yet, beginning next month. With three EPs and a handful of national and international tours already under their belt, a number 2 album is the latest in a long list of achievements for the band from the past three years.

Eminem’s surprise drop Kamikaze took the number 1 spot last week on the ARIA charts, leaving Tash Sultana and Troye Sivan in 2 and 3 respectively. Whilst not surprising to see Eminem in the top spot again this week, we reckon it’s a pretty big deal that the boys managed to beat one of the most famous artist’s in the world to number 2.

My Own Mess was the Triple J feature album of the week over the past week, and has received praise from critics around the world. The number 2 spot is further proof that the boys are quickly becoming one of our countries biggest bands.
