Thrash metal icons Slayer have announced two massive Download Festival sideshows to top off their final ever tour of Australia. Joining them for the slew of shows will be thrash lifers Anthrax and Polish death metal demons Behemoth, who will also be appearing on the second ever Australian installment of the festival.

The enduring, influential act will take to the stage at Brisbane’s Riverstage and Adelaide’s Entertainment Centre in March next year, treating fans to a night of hell-summoning riffs and pit-swelling drumming one last time.

The band announced their retirement from hell-raising earlier this year so this will be Aussie thrash fans last ever time to experience the seminal act live.

Slayer last made their way to Australia for Soundwave Festival 2013 alongside the likes of Metallica, blink-182 and Linkin Park so its fair to say metalheads around the country have been seriously craving the frantic riffage of the legendary act for quite some time now.

Download Festival announced its second round of additions to the already epic lineup last week, revealing that pop punk icons Sum 41 and Pennywise ill be joining the bill, along with Aussie titans Thy Art Is Murder and Polaris.
