While the year is fast coming to a close, with everybody wrapping up at work and preparing to enjoy a hectic Christmas period or, if they’re lucky, a relaxing time off, that doesn’t mean Australia’s live music scene is set to slow down.
In fact, quite the contrary seems to be true, with today’s local tour wrap-up featuring some highly anticipated jaunts from the likes of The Smith Street Band, Clowns, Harts & Magic Bones, Seth Sentry, The Getaway Plan, and The Vanns.
The Smith Street Band
Having Barely caught their breath since they spent November touring around the country to promote their new album, Throw Me In The River, with sold-out shows in every city including three sold-out appearances at Melbourne’s famous Corner Hotel, The Smith Street Band have now announced their first tour of 2015.
With much of Throw Me In The River written on the road, penned during the band’s jaunts around North America, mainland Europe, the UK, and Australia, it’s only fitting the band returns to the cities that the songs were crafted in, and what better place to start another year of intense global touring than in the Australian summer?

Clowns
Melbourne’s favourite hardcore punkers, Clowns, have managed to carve out a bloody impressive little niche for themselves over the past few years. Somewhere along the way, they’ve managed to cook up a ripping new full length release, which is due out 20th February via Poison City Records and they’re embarking on a mega national headline tour to launch it.
The new album, Bad Blood, was written amongst the suburban jungle of Cheltenham (where the band grew up) in a complex that houses a bakery, a cattery, and a morgue, right across the road from a cemetery, and recorded at St Kilda’s lauded Hot House Studios with Craig Harnath and Jeremy Giddings. The resulting record is a swift punch in the face, full of fuzzed-up riffs and aggressive hooks.
