Precociously talented Tone Deaf favourites Snakadaktal, who have played a bunch of our live parties this year were announced as the winners of Triple J’s Unearthed High competition this morning, following in the footsteps of last year’s winners Stonefield, who you might say have gone onto big things, to say the least.

The band have had Triple J listeners getting all hot under the collar over their track ‘Chimera’ which with its laid back beats and haunting vocals shows a maturity beyond their years.

The Rudolf Steiner School students will now have The Living End perform at their school in the near future and after the success of previous year’s winners such as Hunting Grounds (formerly Howl) and Stonefield, they can expect plenty of music industry people attending what are already huge crowds packing out their gigs.

With Richard Kingsmill, Dom Alessio and Nick Findlay amongst the Triple J tastemakers all saluting their musical prowess, we can no doubt expect big things from these guys. Nick Findlay, reviewing ‘Chimera’ said “Been following you guys in secret for the last couple of months, so thought i better let you know about it. am loving what i’ve heard so far and keen for more.”
