In either an inspired method of drumming up media interest in a festival amongst the crowded event announcement schedule, or possibly just a bit of a fuck up – a significant portion of this December’s Stereosonic Festival line up has been revealed. This time it wasn’t an internet leak – rather it was the work of billboard sign posters working in the early hours of a Sunday morning that saw a billboard near a Sydney train station postered with a significant portion of this year’s line up. According to the poster which punters shared pictures of across social media and on internet forums, it will include Armin van Buuren, Carl Cox, Benny Benassi, Bloody Beetroots doing a DJ set and Ferry Corsten LMFAO.

According to  a statement from promoters Totem OneLove, “Due to a miscommunication between the billboard company and the company responsible for installation, a portion of the Stereosonic lineup was released onto billboards in Sydney,” a press statement issued to inthemix from the Stereosonic organisers explained. “Rumours are circulating that the billboard company staff were so excited about this years they just had to share it with Sydney’s commuters a week early. We are quite amazed at how quickly this was shared by patrons on twitter, facebook and inthemix.com.au forums. At least this shows the effectiveness of billboards at key spots in Sydney even on a bleak and cold Sunday morning.”
